The organising committee of the First International Podoconiosis Conference is pleased to be able to offer a limited number of travel awards. The travel awards will cover travel expenses incurred in attending the conference.
Submissions will be considered on the following basis:
Priority will be given to those who have submitted an abstract for the conference
Priority will be given to those who are citizens of podoconiosis endemic countries
Priority will then be given on the basis of reasons given in the online application
There are only a limited number of travel awards available so it is possible that some applications may be rejected
When you complete the online registration form you will be asked if you require a travel award.
Once submitted a member of the organising team will contact applicants to request more information such as a supporting statement, a letter from the applicant’s employer and logistical details.
Applicants will be informed of the decision on their award during the first two weeks of July 2018.
Individuals receiving the Travel Award will be responsible for:
Securing a passport that will remain valid for at least six months after the planned return travel date.
Following any additional instructions provided in the Award letter.
The Travel Award Committee seeks to support diverse representation at the Conference. In addition to the supporting documentation above, the Committee will also consider a balance of regional, and organisational representation.
Decisions regarding Travel Awards are solely at the discretion of the conference organising committee. There is no appeal process and no details regarding Award determination or lack thereof will be given
The conference organising committee reserves the right to cancel this Travel Award program and/or to not Award some or all of the Awards at its sole discretion
