All non-Ethiopian participants are required to obtain a visa to travel to Ethiopia. The only exceptions are nationals from Djibouti and Kenya. Delegates from these countries are advised to please check the entry requirements before travelling.
Please be aware it is your own responsibility to apply for and obtain a visa for the duration of your travel to Ethiopia.
Are you also attending the NNN conference?
If you are attending the NNN conference taking place at the UNECACC from 24th – 26th September, the NNN organising committee should have already provided you with details on how to obtain support with your visa application.
If you are not attending the NNN conference.
Before you can apply for any type of visa for Ethiopia the conference organising team will need to send your passport details to the Ethiopian Main Department for Immigration and Nationality Affairs, so please have these available.
The Immigration Authority will then supply each delegate with documentation which you can use for your evisa or your visa application at your local Consulate/Embassy in your Country of Residence who will advise what other supporting documentation you will require to obtain a visa.
The deadline to provide these details to the Authorities is 31st July 2018.
Please have your passport details available to provide to the conference organising team who will be in touch once they have reviewed your conference registration.
Processing times for visas vary, so please ensure you start the process as soon you receive the relevant documentation.
Are you eligible for an evisa?
Residents of certain countries are able to apply for an evisa, which is a new system introduced by the Ethiopian Government. Please check requirements and eligibility online here.
Please register to secure your place at the conference and apply for a travel award.
